A unique method of suppressing fire combining smoke detection and water mist deluge technology within a large open warehouse containing wood chippings, to create green energy from the extracted gases.

The 12 metre high water deluge system would have consumed too much water in a traditional sprinkler deluge, but by designing a low pressure water mist system we created the perfect solution for this application.

A fire test was devised at a European Test House on pallets piled inside a monitored space. The fire was easily controlled and extinguished within 5 minutes, although the run time would have been for a full 30 minutes.

Less water, better damage control.
