The installation at Cheviot Foods directs the mist at each fryer via diverter valves controlled by a master panel in the processing office.

• Fire is detected via stainless steel probes

• The fire signal triggers a water mist discharge into the affected area for 10 minutes
• An interface in the control panel shuts down the fryers
• A house fire alarm warns all staff of the hazard
• After the main cylinder bank has discharged a reserve bank can be brought in so that the water mist fire fighting continues until the main cylinder is refilled

Ultrafog creates tiny micron sized droplets to become steam, cooling and smothering the fire and creating little mess to clean up – the system uses only 10% of the water that would normally be required by conventional water sprinklers. There are no additives - just water is required for the fire suppression. It is a superbly engineered solution to meet the demands of the modern kitchen.
